Strengthening Your Relationships

“Relational Reset” is an eye opening book which gets you thinking about how you handle yourself in your relationships. It helps you see yourself from another’s perspective and point of view so that you can have those relationships that have deep roots and are long lasting. It helps you strengthen the most important relationship you need in your life which is with Jesus Christ. When you strengthen your relationship with The Lord it shows how your relationship with others will become stronger as well. Instead of starting by blaming the other person in the relationship it tells you first how to look inward at yourself to see how you can fix the situation so that the relationship does not dissolve but grows stronger.
This book is written as though you are having a conversation with the author which keeps your attention and mind centered on resetting relationships. This book has so many good points and ideas to improve your relationships that you will want to read it again and again.

Amazing Book!

Reclaiming Sanity is an amazing book! It may have been written for women, but as a Christian, a Veteran, and a Man who has definitely thought he was crazy and or “losing my mind” many times over the last dozen years, Reclaiming Sanity made me realize I AM NOT! The stories these ladies share through Dr. Shaler are moving. I recommend this book to ANYONE struggling with their sanity.

Dr. Laurel Shaler didn't disappoint

I love that this book starts out with how to silence insecurities. I think that is a wonderful way to start this book in learning how to better understand and communicate with other people. I think that books that help you with your self worth are truly amazing tools and Dr. Laurel Shaler didn’t disappoint. Not only does she remind you who you are in Christ but she follows it up with scripture so you can further study it. I love how she left space to answer the questions she asked you, how different things have affected your life and looking into what can help you. She helps you with dealing with disappointment, envy, and so much more in a biblical way. I think that her book will help anyone that needs a relationship to reset no matter if its a mother relationship or a marriage. She gives amazing advice and helps that will truly turn your life around.”

Something to offer everyone

Whether you are a victim of stress, trauma, or just overwhelming life events, or are someone wanting to support someone in your life, Reclaiming Sanity: Hope and Healing for Trauma, Stress, and Life Events has something to offer.Dr. Shaler writes from a person, compassionate and first-hand knowledge about the subject. The book was easy to read and contained a wealth of knowledge, insight and more. I appreciated how she was able to differentiate between the types of trauma and stress while recognizing the lasting effects any of the above might have on a person’s life.

I love her Biblical examination of anger and other situations found in life. One of the most relevant pieces of the book to me is her discussion about forgiveness. Forgiveness is not necessarily for the sole benefit of the one being forgiven. A lack of forgiveness provides the potential for long-term and even unnoticed effects on the one that needs to grant forgiveness.

I also love how in the last part of the book she describes how to have your own mini retreat. Truly, everyone at one time or another may benefit from experiencing a mini-retreat. The details and suggestions in this suggestion The options include everything from calming breaths to progressive muscle relaxation, to a Reclaiming Sanity retreat. Reclaiming Clarity, Reclaiming Me, Reclaiming peace, and Reclaiming Sanity all play a role. It is a matter of going through the steps and searching our hearts for God’s wisdom and knowledge.

So if you are looking for a book about taking back your life or helping someone else take back their life from stress, hard life happenings, or other traumatic events, check out this book for yourself.
